Travel Fellowships

The BPRS sponsors travel awards for BPRS members who trainees or researchers who are attending an internation meeting (see below). Travel awards are also available from the British Lung Foundation (follow this link)


BPRS travel awards

The BPRS provides travel awards up to a value of £750.00.

The following criteria must be met:

  • Applicants must be members of the BPRS for more than 6 months
  • Applicants must be in a training post or a research position (consultant/qualified nurse/other non-consultant members who are not in a training/research post are not eligible)
  • Applicants must not have previously been awarded a BPRS travel award
  • The applicant’s abstract must have been accepted for presentation or poster at an international meeting (which can be held in the UK)
  • The presentation is of original research not previously presented at an international meeting and supported by the applicant’s supervisor
  • The applicant is the lead author/presenter
  • The abstract has a central theme relevant to respiratory paediatrics

How to apply

  • A completed application form (click here to download) should be sent to the BPRS Chair of Research Scientific Committee before the conference
  • The application form must include the details of the conference and proposed travel arrangements and be accompanied by a copy of the abstract which has all authors listed
  • Awards will be assessed by the confirmed by the Chair of the Research Scientific Committee and confirmed by the secretary of the BPRS
  • Proof of attendance following the event must be forwarded to the secretary of the BPRS and chair of the research committee within 7 days of return from the conference

Disputes for eligibility or funding will go to the President of the BPRS for arbitration
